Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
- What is the Autodesk Q4 Financing Promotion?
Beginning November 3, 2008 through January 16, 2009, Autodesk has made arrangements to
offer qualified end-user customers in the United States and Canada, financing consisting of
deferred payments for 60 days, plus 0% financing for twelve months (14 month total term).
- What if a customer needs 24 or 36-month financing?
For customers requiring 24 or 36-month terms, promotional “blended rate” terms may also be
available. (see question #3)
- What is a blended rate?
In addition to the 0% financing offer, customers may be able to extend their payments over a 24
or 36-month period. With this longer payback period, the interest rate will not be 0%; it will carry
an interest rate that “blends” the 0% 12-month promotional rate with market rates for the balance
of the term.

Please contact your financing provider for details and a quote.
- Are there any tax benefits associated with financing? (U.S. Only)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Customers should consult their personal tax advisor on their specific
situation; these are general guidelines for U.S. taxpayers and not to be construed as tax or legal
advice.
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 has increased the amount of the deductions allowed under
IRS Section 179 for new equipment. In addition, the Act generally permits a bonus first-year
depreciation deduction of 50% for qualifying property acquired and put in service after
December 31, 2007 and before January 1, 2009. This bonus is in addition to normal first-year
depreciation.
- What property qualifies for IRS Section 179?
For more information and qualification details, please consult your tax advisor or visit
http://www.section179.org.
- How long does the application process take?
US: In many cases, credit approval can be completed in minutes or hours. Large deals
(>$150K) and customers without sufficient public records may require additional documentation
and time.
Canada: Once all required information has been provided, approval can be completed in 4
hours or less. Larger deals (>$50K) may take longer depending on the circumstances.
- How will this program benefit Autodesk customers?
By making attractive financing available for software product purchases, the Autodesk Finance Program will allow more Autodesk customers to profit from the latest advances in design
technology. Compared to typical bank loans, the Autodesk Finance Program has the potential
to allow end-user customers to conserve cash by requiring no large down payment or
compensating bank balances. Additionally, customers will have low, predictable monthly
payments, and an additional source of credit outside of their banking lines. Customers who
finance software may also benefit from improved asset management and certain tax benefits.
